Subject:that one meme I wanted to post but forgot
Time:02:55 pm
The problem with LiveJournal is that we think we're close, but really, we know nothing about each other.
So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me, something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about, or something you've always been curious about but have never asked, or something completely silly that you'd like me to answer for kicks. No limits on the range of questions, either: ask me anything you want to know about, from my favorite flavor of ice cream or random opinions on fandom.
Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you! THEN I ASK YOU STUFF BACK on the same general level as what you asked

this's what I meant to post but didn't so

So, er. Where do you stand on the chicken v. egg debate? (And why!)

Egg. Fish come from eggs, dinosaurs come from eggs, and lots of other things come from eggs. Chickens are a recent development.

Ooh, an egg argument I haven't heard before. =3

Schrodinger's cat is currently very annoyed and would like to know if he can get his treat now for going in the damn box.

Optimism or pessimism?

Optimism: things're more likely to work out if you go in assuming everything'll work than if you assume everything'll break.

I don't know actually very much about you at all!
What subject matter interests you a lot?
Also WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?

THAT'S OKAY I AM ELUSIVE

Man I don't know. I like all sorts of things! Typically science- or language-related but really it is easier to find things I don't like. ... I'm a herp and rock nerd, though? I have a collection of ROCKS THAT GLOW UNDER SHORT-WAVE LIGHTS, anyway! And a few long and medium wave ones, too, but I don't have the lights for those so I don't collect 'm: I just get ones that also happen to look really pretty then, too.

I like ... dumplings and pineapple and salmon. And other things. But currently that's what I'm thinking of.

What things do you /not like/?

I like basically every subject ever, if it's presented in a cool and interesting way, like... I see an episode of Nova about it or something (whoo I'm a nerd). Except bio and computer science I guess, but I think that's only because I haven't learned a lot about either of those. I think I could definitely find either interesting if I had a good teacher. But my favorite stuff is probably physics! Especially the newfangled theoretical physics, or crazy stuff like quantum mechanics, but even normal stuff is ok too. OH AND I did an independent study on quantum mechanics in 9th grade (minus anything mathy... obviously) and got to talk to a professor that taught it at the university near me and everything and it was REALLY COOL. Math is pretty cool a lot of the time too and I also like poetry a lot. In fact, I do like poetry a lot and I wish that the school I went to had a better english program and actually /offered a poetry class/...

Also it's awesome that you collect rocks, I have never met anyone else who does that and it is rather excellent.

OH MAN I NEVER KNOW WHAT TO ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION BECAUSE I AM NOT REALLY ALL THAT PASSIONATE ABOUT ANY FOOD... although let me tell you I love Icees. Not really a food but whatever. I like olives and mushrooms a lot. I hate fish with a firey passion that burns with the heat of a thousand suns.

I don't like math once I stop getting it and I think a lot of literary analysis stuff is dumb but I dunno. Really, if it's in the realm of EVERYTHING HAS A HIGHER MEANING, I tend to get annoyed, but only after a certain point. 's cool up 'til then.

Rocks are great. My dad really wants to go on a trip to somewhere by the Baltic Sea to look for amber. :3 Nova is also a wonderful series though so many episodes are about things I don't really care about that much. Sometimes the topic's awesome; sometimes it isn't. I just record 'm all and delete the ones I don't care about.

D: How can you not like fish? I love fish. Fish is wonderful.

What types of things do you read?

Math just makes me frustrated when I don't get it, because I am like; "but I like you why will you not reveal your secrets to me whyyyy". Literary analysis can be cool but only if I respect the person who's doing the analyzing so it's pretty subjective.

Fish, I dunno, it's so... fishy!

As for reading... I used to really like fantasy, but I haven't really read any lately. My favorite book used to be Lirael by Garth Nix, and I still like that series, but I haven't read any new fantasy books in a loooong time. I like short stories, David Sedaris and Bill Bryson are both great, and recently I've been reading a lot of... nonfiction. I'm not really sure why. Stuff about math and a bunch of essays by Stephen Jay Gould about evolution and stuff, I don't know why I suddenly find nonfiction so interesting, but I, uh, do. I guess I'm just losing my imagination or something. Oh! Also poems when I am in a poem-y mood.

Same question back at you!

If you could turn your life into an AU by changing the outcome of one event in your past, what would you change, and what would you expect the outcome would be?

Or, if you would prefer a general-knowledge question *actually* in line with the prompt: kind of music you like?

Fix the mess-up with math classes in fourth grade so that maybe I'd've either not gotten into the habit of sleeping in class or at least would've had leeway for failing math at some point in middle school. Might've ended up in a different high school, too, but I dunno. I'd be less bored in math classes, though.

re: music: ... I really don't know.

AU question back at you, or why you write?

Mmm, math. Not what I had expected.

My answer to the AU question isn't very interesting, so as for why I write--I have trouble sleeping at night if I don't.

When? Whenever, really, depending on local weather. Whenever it'd be better than Maryland summer weather, pretty much. I'd hit Reykjavik, some part of coastal Spain or another, Lisbon (mainly for the Lisbon Oceanarium) London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, somewhere in the Alps, Baltic Sea coastline, Moscow, parts of Siberia, quick tour of Singapore, I don't even know where in Japan, parts of the Andes (maybe Machu Picchu?), aaaand finish up with the California Academy of Sciences.

I'm probably going to add a lot more things to that list but I don't know enough. Ah well.

Try Korean markets for azuki stuff. Decent fish, I dunno. You haven't mentioned anywhere with half-decent seafood near you, so!

WHILE TYPING THIS REPLY: something in the SSBB playlist, Sakura Addiction, something else in the KHR playlist, 88, and Lal Mirch's leitmotif.

... okay, boomerang then! I would go... whenever I get at least one other to go with me... and money would be nice. couchhopping woo

I've said the first stops would likely be England and Scotland and Canada and Japan! and then probably Portugal, Italy... Australia, New Zealand... China (I'd love to visit this /one chick/, a transfer student from last year - in all of china, though. ha!), Holland, Greece, Switzerland... yeah! and then all around in America; New England and skootsville and New Orleans and... I have, for years, had the strangest urge to visit the Four Corners. so that!

maybe when we go to galveston for schlitterbahn there'll be fresher fish...

ALSO WHILE TYPING THIS: Arashi no Ouji, Leave a Tender Moment Alone, American Pie, Nyasu no Party, and now One Night Star! gooo khr songs!
